One simple tip that will help you actually achieve your goals

One simple tip that will help you actually achieve your goals

I’m sure it is not just me. I spend a couple of hours a week reading business related blog posts, finding out wonderful ideas on how to improve my website, my marketing, my customer service, my social media sites, my audience engagement… It seems there is so much information out there that it is almost impossible not to run your business like a real pro. But wait… it is not that easy, right?

I’ve been doing this for a while now and until a couple of weeks ago I wasn’t able to find a direct, clear relation between my achievements and all the time spent reading about tips, tricks and magic potions. The problem was all the notes I was writing down on my list of amazing-ideas-from-the-internet-I-definitely-need-to-implement were SO MANY I always left them for when I had the time. And guess what? I never had it.

So what am I doing now to solve this problem? Focus. As simple as that sounds. Focus for real. Instead of reading lots of articles during the whole week, fearing to miss out on the knowledge of the most innovative techniques, just take a very brief look at them and save them for later if you think they are interesting. Then select just one of them on Monday (only one!) and focus on it during 7 days. That article will be part of your to do list for that whole week. Read it everyday and try to implement everything you can during that period. This way you will only have a couple of ideas in mind on how to improve your business each time and not a mess of random thougths you can’t organize in your head. Don’t try to do everything at once and you will advance slowly but surely :)

Enjoy, improve and share!
